Suspension Air ride suspension Q

Not you usual air ride question ;) Our 2002 Mercedes (Sprinter based) motorhome has a Dunlop variable suspesion system fitted. We have had the vehicle 18 months and until recently didnt give it much thought. Recently the slightest pothole would result in the entire vehicle shaking to buggery. Before headding into the hills last week I added air to the system via a pair of valves in the locker. There was very little in either the front of rear . The fairly vague handbook states a minimum of 0.5 bar and max of 7.0 bar. I randomly put in 5 bar to each and the improvement is amazing.

No more crashing into the bottom of potholes. Whilst I am happy enough with my trial and error method and the imprrovementdoes qnyone have any experience with similar systems?

Does 7.0 bar mean the softest ride or visa versa?

cheers in advance :)
