Warhammer - anyone have kids who play?

I'm researching Warhammer for a work project and am in discussions with Games Workshop for the technical/resources side of things.

But...

I'd like to focus on the the social side of the game, particularly amongst pre/early teens. So, does anyone have kids who play and could shed some light please?

I'm particularly interested in what ages and where do they play? (School league, Games Workshop, club, friends etc.)

How do kids/teens become involved in the first place if there is nowhere 'official' to start playing? - (no Games Workshop/local advertising)

How do people become aware of it and what would encourage them to start?

If a club started up, how best to attract new members/novices bearing in mind the playing costs involved? If a complete beginner dropped by and wanted to join in, what is the etiquette for sharing characters?

Any experiences would be appreciated. I need to pitch an idea and as of yesterday had only been vaguely aware of the name! :o It could be interesting.... :eek:
