House rent discounted for public sector workers.

If I were to advertise a house available to rent, then add that I would give a substantial discount for specific groups of people, how would folk react to that?

I guess it would depend on which group I were discriminating against.

So, my question is - who are we 'allowed' to discriminate against, why, and is it fair to have any discrimination?

Personally, I think it stinks - it smacks of elitism, favouritism and a whole load of other things I detest.

I'd be interested to know what other folks think about it.
