Hi all,
Well a long while ago I first converted my beetle to water cooled, using a variety of engines, and spent some time playing at racing it. Long story short is I got bored, and being an engineer decided it was time to attack my project in the way I always wanted: big mid engine, tube frame chassis and properly engineered (non-compromising) suspension and steering.
There the concept was born- lightweight, big engine, bang up to date and without any of the outdated tech that was originally hung off VW beetles.
I started with some box section:

And started mapping out the chassis-

Hoping to retain the original bulkhead.
I then added strength as I build up the upper chassis and roll hoop to give the chassis stiffness

Until I got to the point where I felt a chassis was taking shape

Until I tried fitting the engine......
