I have a standard 1600 twin port in a splitty, with a 34 pict 3 carb and a SVDA distributor. I plan on using this vehicle to tow a teardrop caravan. However, a lot of the journey will be up long drag hills requiring a lot of time with the throttle near to wide open to maintain speed. Would I be best removing the vacuum advance hose for this journey, so I don't spend a lot of time with more advance than the mechanical 28 degrees?
Should the SVDA lose vacuum advance with sustained mid to high throttle, as mine does not appear to?
