Aprox twelve months ago I had a full four wheel alignment done on my B6 Passat estate. Down the road it felt absolubtly spot on. Well done to that large tyre depot chain. :)
Two weeks ago I got a front left puncture and had to replace the tyre. Fair enough the tyre had an inch long cut on the outside edge. Setting off the car didn't feel right so I went straight back and they offered to check the alignment (they wouldn't charge me unless it needed setting up). As expected they told me it was out and £60 later, confident in the knowledge of the great job they'd previously done, I left. Under acceleration the car pulled right and along the straight it veered left slightly. So I went back the following weekend and they re-checked it only to find the rear end was out again. After suggesting I'd hit a curb or something (which I hadn't) they reset all four wheels. The car now stays straight when accelerating but tracks left just enough to be frustrating.
The work is guaranteed for a month and was carried out by the same lad each time.
So, would you go back to the same garage and insist the manager does the work or go to a different branch of the chain?
