Sad times I'm afraid people. Due to needing a larger deposit for a house move my Beetle is going to have to go. Not the plan but not much choice. She is on ebay and car and classic. Ill try and get some pictures on here to but have found it hard in the past. Send me a message if any VZI members are interested and ill talk about sensible offers.
Heres the description etc. Many thanks

Welcome to the sale of my amazing, fully restored 1960 VW Beetle. Please bear with me as there is alot to this car so the advert may be long winded which I apologise for. I will try to include all the detail I can.
Very sad sale of a car I had planned to keep for a very long time but am having to sell due to a change of circumstances.
I bought this car in June having looked for over a year and this being the best Beetle I had seen. I wanted an early Beetle with all it's charm and also with a lightly tuned engine as it would be used as my daily vehicle. Unfortunately all was not as described in the engine department which I discovered the day after buying the Beetle and then set about getting the car back to it's best but with some improvements. I will come back to this later.
The car was fully restored about five years ago to a very high standard, having a bare metal respray etc. The car is in Anthracite Grey, a genuine VW, rare colour for Beetles but it looks amazing and suits the car so well often being the first thing people comment on. The only one area that is not perfect is the drivers front wing that a previous owner obviously scraped. It has been repainted but not to a standard with in keeping with the rest of the car, that having been said you really have to look hard to notice it. The car had new rubbers all round, all the chrome is in perfect condition as are the towel rail bumpers and chrome trim. The paint has a deep shine to it and frankly looks stunning. There is no rust on the vehicle and no rot at all. The car was sound proofed throughout and waxoiled. It benefits from having a new carpet set inside in biscuit colour and the seats door cards etc are in a light olive green and cream colour which makes the inside a very nice place to be. The headlining is in grey, it looks fine but me being a perfectionist I would change it as it is not original or as in good condition as the rest of the car. Already fitted was a nice 12volt heater, flat 4 wooden steering wheel and drinks holder. All of the electrics are fine, everything works as it should.
The car has had new heater channels and common problem areas on old VW'S are not at all present on this car.
The vehicles stance looks fantastic. It has been done correctly on a narrowed four inch beam with dropped spindles, it has not caused me any problems as my daily driver and doesn't ground on speed humps etc. If it is not to everyones taste I have standard spindles which will raise the car. In my opinion it looks to good to change and handles very well. The rear had previously been dropped one spline as well.
The car sits on Continental tyres all in excellent condition with excellent tread on Porsche Gas Burner wheels which are spotless, they look great and do not have a mark on them.
The underside of the car is in fantastic condition to with no rust or rot, structurally the car is sound. Mechanically there are no faults at all with this car. The gear change is nice and smooth, the brakes work well for drums all round and there are no untoward knocks or noises when driving. I would drive it anywhere.
Now we come to the engine which was the problem area when I bought it with an oil leak coming from the crankcase, it is now the best thing about the car in my opinion.
I will now list the following work that I have had carried out. Please bear with me.
The car went to a local VW specialist in August for the following work to be carried out.
Front inertia seat belts fitted so the car was safe for me and my six year old, a heated front windscreen fitted so the car could be used all round, this actual works very very well and defrosting the windscreen is no problem at all, a new windscreen rubber was also fitted. The specialist there removed the engine and discovered the problem which was a leak coming from the pulley area of the crankcase. The engine was then sent to RNJ Motorsport to fix the problem.
The car when I bought it was a single port engine with 1641 barrels and pistons on twin weber 34 ict carbs and after speaking to RNJ Motorsport I thought this was an ideal time to have the engine sorted out properly and have alot of work done and modified so it was good fun to drive, was quick, reliable and ideal to use as my daily driver.
The following is a list of works carried out.
The single port heads were replaced with twin port heads which had been worked on, ported and polished, the crankcase was replaced and the pulley, inlet manifolds replaced and the crankshaft was reground. Stateside tuning provided the following parts a new webcam 119 camshaft, avon gear, flywheel seal, 1641 barrells and pistons, gasket set, scat lifters, manton pushrods, rod bearings, carrier, pushrods, springs. Electronic distributor fitted. The engine was then built up, bench tested and carbs tuned.
I have had Beetles in the past and I must say this engine is fantastic, it is really fast for a Beetle, pulls and pulls and pulls and is great fun to drive, surprising people and myself at times. It is great fun. I was told by the engine builder it produces around 75 bhp. It is fantastic.
At the same time as having the engine installed heat exchangers were put back onto the car so I actually had some heating. The engine build is still under warranty for a year or 8000 miles which ever comes first, I have probably done a thousand at very most since the rebuild which was done throughout August and September.
Once the engine had been fully rebuilt I drove the car to the local Vw specialist for more work to be carried out. A new alternator was fitted as the old one was faulty, a new exhaust system was fitted as I prefer the look of the original twin tail pipes to the single quietpack that was fitted and I wanted the heater to work properly which it now does, a full free flow oil system with seperate oil filter was fitted, fuel lines were replaced, oil and gasket set, fuel pump pedestal and fuel pump, alternator shims, exhaust kit and wiring, oil hoses, heater tubes, front tinware, rear tinware, oil cooler scoop, oil filter, fuel filter, throtttle cable. Rear axle gaiter replaced. Obviously the oil has been replaced and I have receipts for all the parts and work carried out.
A long long list of parts and work has been carried out. Yesterday the car was mot'd so it now has a years mot until DEC 19TH 2016, it had three minor advisories which was slight play in the front king pins and slight play in a rear wheel bearing. Not bad for a car built in 1960 (55 years ago) then again I had no doubt it would pass. Whilst mentioning the age please remember that this car has not just rolled off the production line, potential buyers may notice a chip or something I haven't noticed but i'd be surprised as I am very picky and have tried to be as honest as possible. That being said it does look amazing and is a fantastic car.
I hope that from my description people can see just how much work has gone into this Beetle and I genuinely believe it is one of the best 60's Beetles out there. It can be used everyday with the new owner having the peace of mind that all of the major jobs have been addressed, for this car to be a show car it would just need the headlining replaced even though it isn't bad at all and looks fine and the paintwork perfected on the drivers front arch, again not really noticeable. This car is one of the best and ready to use. I have done all of the hard work mechanically and a previous owner had the car fully restored. Mechanically and structurally excellent.
Now for the boring part. I am a classic car enthusiast who knows exactly how much early Beetles are worth and the fact that they are going up in value all the time, I am also aware that the early 60's Beetles pre 1967 are very popular and again of higher value. I'm also aware of just how good my car is and how much work and money has gone into getting it to where it is now. The pictures do not do it justice. I am also a realist and want the car to be bought by someone who will cherish it as I have and take it on to what I had planned which was to show and use it. I know I will not make back what I have spent on this car but I do know what it's worth and will not entertain any silly offers or throw thousands of pounds I have spent away. If the right price is offered I will also include some VW parts with the sale. Here is a chance for someone to take a car that has had all the hard work done, is very nearly finished and will keep going up in value.
The car is advertised elsewhere so I have the right to remove it at anytime, viewings are welcome and I will answer questions etc as quickly and as honestly as possible. Please do not waste my time or yours by just coming to kick tyres if you have no intention of buying, sorry to sound stroppy but I've experienced that in the past and won't entertain it. The buyer will need to make contact and leave a deposit within 24 hours of buying the car and full payment within two to five days. I am an honest seller and a classic car enthusiast having many of them in the past. This is not a happy sale and if I could afford to keep it as planned then I would but a house move has to come first unfortunately.
I hope you like my Beetle as much as I do. One of the best.
Looking for £9750 to claw some money back but will listen to genuine offers.
Many thanks
All the best
